Otto Olsen delivers high quality brake linings, specially developed for applications such as brake and friction strips on anchor winches and industrial clutches (eg cone clutch). WR251 is a woven brake lining which, depending on the situation, can be used for a wide range of other applications. Among other things, it has been used as a substitute for asbestos.
Product description
WR251 is a tightly woven, semi-flexible friction material / brake lining. It is based on a yarn spun from a mixture of glass and synthetic fibers, combined with a fine copper wire to improve the strength and heat dissipation properties.
This composition was specially developed to combine good friction properties with flexibility. The high coefficient of friction works excellently in wet, greasy and humid environments; and this makes the product particularly suitable for maritime applications.
Product properties
Very high coefficient of friction
- Resistant to high temperatures
- Strong
- Oil resistant
- Seawater resistant
- Tailored
Installation
There are different installation methods for the brake lining. The most commonly used method is the vulcanization (gluing) of the brake lining on the brake / friction strips and / or the brake shoe. During this process, the brake shoes are placed in an oven. For bolts and rivets, the head must be lowered into the brake lining using a countersink.
WR251 Brake Pad is supplied as standard on a roll. It is also possible for us to supply the dimensions you need, cut to size. Contact us for more info.
